What is FTTP and FTTC? Fiber to the Premises & Fiber to the Cabinet
There are two types of Fiber optic broadband connection and Voiped Telecom offers both through our partnership with Cisco: Fibre to the premises (FTTP) and fibre to the cabinet (FTTC).
- Fibre to the premises (FTTP) means the entire connection to your premises to your Internet Service Provider is pure fiber optic cable.
- Fibre to the cabinet (FTTC) is internet connectivity based on a combination of fiber optic cable and copper cable. Fiber-optic cables run to an external street platform that serves several customers.
Fibre optic broadband in Europe enables download speeds typically over 100mb per second, much faster than the European average and upload speeds are also much faster with fibre optic broadband.
